Meet Suanne

Suanne Sikkema, MS, CNS, NBC-HWC is an integrative nutritionist who believes we all have the power to make better choices to improve our lifestyles, one small step at a time. As a former commercial fisherman and professional gardener, she has a strong relationship with the whole and wild foods that grow in the natural world. She also has a background in clinical herbalism and the healing power of plants.
Suanne uses personalized nutrition in her practice to create customized recommendations that are unique to your own biology. Her nutritional guidelines are grounded in a blend of science and the traditional wisdom of your genetic and cultural heritage. Suanne understands that total health is made up of many components in addition to nutrition including movement, stress, sleep and connection and will address these with your in your work with Restore Wellness.
Suanne uses intuitive eating practices to help heighten your awareness of your relationship to food and tune in to these messages, allowing you to live a full and vibrant life. Suanne is a member of the Healthy at Every Size movement, which supports people of all sizes to find compassionate ways to nourish and care for themselves.
Suanne is an adult adoptee and personally understands many of the issues and common themes that powerfully impact this community. She has personally seen how shifts in diet, lifestyle and mindset can create lasting positive change for adoptees. She started and co-facilitates her local Adoptees Connect chapter, a support group for adoptees, and works in tandem with adoption- competent therapists to help adoptees move towards a balanced and integrated life.
Suanne holds a Masters in Nutrition and Integrative Health from the Maryland University of Integrative Health and is certified by the Board for Certification of Nutrition Specialists (CNS). She is also a Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC), a Certified Mindful Eating Instructor and a member of the American Nutrition Association and the American Botanical Council.






The Certified Nutrition Specialist (CNS) is formal recognition for nutrition professionals who have met rigorous and demanding eligibility requirements and demonstrate a depth and breadth of knowledge appropriate for effective practice in the profession of personalized nutrition.
The esteemed NBC-HWC credential represents training, education, and assessment standards, allowing for the profession to advance in all aspects of health care and wellness.
